Just bought two cool things, a 1BTC Silver minted coin (with the public and private key laser etched into it) as a memento of this crazy currency, and a gold savings bar which I'm putting the rest into (this has 2-factor authentication so not even the minter has access to my private key). Both will be going into the safety deposit box.

Mine's not up to 100BTC yet... if it was I wouldn't be posting this, I'd have my butler write this up.

If you're not cold-storing your BTC, you're asking for a disaster to happen someday. You can do the same for free with a paper wallet if you have a printer, but I wanted something memorable, and a bit more permanent:

Sweet! Love it.

I'm using brainwallet.org on a perpetually offline computer to generate wallets I stash the BTC in. Will get physical stuff just to try it out.

Thing is my wallet is worth way more than my computer right now, so if it's ever hacked, or physically stolen, it's very bad. Also, in the case that I die, if somebody else finds the coin / bar in my safety deposit box, they'll easily know what to do to get the value. If it's locked away in my brain, it's lost forever.

So if you're not in the mining game at all, are you just speculating in the market a la stocks? Or are you in a separate business where you accept BTC as payment?

I'm investing in Bitcoin, a la stocks. If you know what a Black Swan event is, you'll get my thinking.

In my opinion, this is a Black Swan event in progress.

Fixed that for you

"Defac, look up Namecoin and what it's capable of," said I realizing Defac might quit the game industry because of this.

Check out BTC-e.com, specifically the charts for LTC and NMC.
